A thought occurred to me. Just why would someone want to be more confident anyway?
What’s so great about it that would make someone get off their butt and do something?

What would I do with more confidence? I would take those chances/risks that I wouldn’t (read: don’t) normally take. I wouldn’t have to play the “if only I…” game anymore.

Chad’s answer is true for me and I believe also that if I were more confident I would be happier because I would be more fulfilled by having taken those risks and reached for the stars instead of playing that “if only” game.
Thanks for this series, Steve!

@Chad: I like your distinction between wouldn’t and don’t – ‘don’t’ has more resonance doesn’t it? I guess the question is, what’s the cost of playing the ‘if only I‘ game, and is that cost worth it when you stack it up against the alternative?
